Bill Owen (William John Owen Rowbotham, 1914-1999), English actor and songwriter. Best known for the role of Compo in the TV series, Last of the Summer Wine. He was an active supporter of the Labour Party. Seen here, standing at the side of a piano, smiling at the pianist (possibly Tony Russell, with whom he collaborated on a musical, The Matchgirls, in the 1960s).
