Gordon McLennan (1924-2011), former leader of the Communist Party of Great Britain, its National Organiser 1966-1975 and its General Secretary 1976-1989. When the CPGB was dissolved in 1991 he joined the Communist Party of Scotland. Behind him is a poster, Communists say Smash the Industrial Relations Act, probably referring to the highly controversial Act which was passed under a Conservative government in 1971, and repealed by a Labour government in 1974.
