British aviators John Alcock (1892 - 1919) and Arthur Whitten Brown (1886 1948) made the first non-stop transatlantic flight in June 1919.[1] They flew a modified World War I Vickers Vimy bomber from St. John's, Newfoundland to Clifden, Ireland.
