View of the cottage of Alfred Wallis (1855-1942), primitive artist, mariner, fisherman and marine stores dealer, at Back Road West, not far from Porthmeor Beach and the Tate Gallery, in the centre of St Ives, Cornwall. Wallis took up painting late in life, in 1922 after his wife died. The cottage has now been modernised and is a popular venue for holiday letting.
