View of Liteyny Bridge, St Petersburg, Russia, with boats in the foreground. The bridge crosses the River Neva, connecting Liteyny Prospekt with the Vyborgsky district. It was the city's second permanent bridge across the Neva, opened in 1879. In 1903 the bridge was renamed Aleksandrovsky after Tsar Alexander II, but this name was never adopted by the public, and after the 1917 Revolution the original name (meaning Foundry) was restored.
