View of Trinity (Troitsky) Cathedral, St Petersburg, Russia, built between 1828 and 1835. The memorial column, or Column of Glory, in front of the building commemorates the Russian victory in the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878). This monument was dismantled in 1929 and sold for cash by the Soviet Government; in 2004 it was restored using the original designs.
