As part of their series on the education of British Youth, the Illustrated London News ran a feature on Stonyhurst College, Lancashire. Stonyhurst was founded in Lancashire 1794 as a Roman Catholic boys' school in the Jesuit tradition. Here, a view across the twin lakes, and the Rev. J.D Boyle, rector, can be seen walking with head prefect A. P Mullen and other senior boys outside the main facade.
