One of George Stephenson's early locomotives made at Killingworth Colliery, near Newcastle upon Tyne. This locomotive was named Bl?cher after the Prussian General Gebhard Leberecht von Bl?cher, whose speedy assistance helped defeat Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. Part of a series of experimental designs, the Bl?cher locomotive was the first to incorperate flanged wheels, helping to keep it on the tracks.
