Southern Right Whale - Southern Black-backed / Dominican / Kelp Gull (Larus dominicanus) taking off from a whale's back, where it has tried to feed on skin and blubber (Eubalaena australis). Off Puerto Piramide, Valdes Peninsula, Chubut Province, Patagonia, Argentina. Once the gulls have created a wound, they keep picking inside it. The whales react sharply to this predation and can only dive in the water to escape the attacks.
