Capella, the sixth brightest star in the sky and the brightest in the constellation of Auriga. Capella is a yellow giant - a huge star nearing the end of its life. It lies 45 light years away from Earth and is closely associated with two smaller stars, the three together forming a triple star held together by gravity.
