View of the Triffid Nebula (Messier 20, M20, NGC 6514) in the constellation Sagittarius. Triffid means "divided into 3 lobes," and the object is an unusual open cluster of stars, made up of an emission nebula, a reflection nebula, and a dark nebula (the latter is also designated Barnard 85). Photographed with a QHY8 CCD & 16" scope; 100 minute exposure.
