Cosmonaut Valery G. Korzun, photographed amongst pipes within a node that connects several modules that form part of the Russian Mir space station. The addition of modules onto the core of Mir has increased the space station's mass from its original 21 tonnes to over 100 tonnes. Korzun was the commander of the Mir-22 mission, and one of three crew members at the time of this photograph, which was taken in September 1996 whilst the American space shuttle Atlantis was docked with Mir to deliver supplies and exchange personnel.
