Copper hydroxide precipitate. Copper (II) hydroxide precipitate (Cu(OH)2) formed by adding few drops of a 1M solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to 0.2 M solution copper sulfate (CuSO4). The reaction is CuSO4 + NaOH -> Cu(OH)2 + Na2SO4. This is an example of a double replacement reaction.
