A molecular model of an Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody, the most abundant antibody found in the body synthesized by plasma B cells. IgG antibodies bind to foreign pathogens to immobilize and prevent them from binding with other pathogens. Additionally, an antibody coating allows phagocytes in the immune system to recognize and engulf foreign substances.
