Accurate reconstruction of the Homo sapiens skull "Skhul 5" which was discovered near Mount Carmel, Israel in 1932. At the site that this skull was found the remains of seven adults and three children were found, some of which may have been deliberate burials. Skhul 5 had the mandible of a boar on the chest. Perforated Nassarius shells (a marine species) significantly different from local fauna have also been recovered from the area, suggesting that these people may have collected and employed the shells symbolically as beads. The fossils have been tentatively dated at about 80,000-120,000 years old. The reconstruction is based on original fossil casts, photographs and/or scientific measurements and is formed out of polyurethane resin which has a similar look and feel to real fossilized bone.
