A setup demonstrating a classic case of Fraunhofer diffraction on a circular aperture. Here of a diode laser beam (635 nm) is incident on a small aperture (diaphragm, pinhole) of 35 micron diameter. The resulting diffraction pattern (called Airy disk) is observed on a screen about 15 cm away. This is a classic demonstration of the wave nature of the light.
