Flowers of Texas Madrone, Arbutus xalapensis. This beautiful small tree is found from the Texas Big Bend east to the Hill Country. Its evergreen leaves, waxy flowers and autumn red berries makes it one of our most beautiful native trees. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to transplant and does poorly under cultivation.
