The Elder-flowered Orchid (Dactylorhiza sambucina) This splendid wild orchid is only fragmentarily spread in Europe. It prefers mountain meadows where localy larger populations can be found. This orchid shows a distinct flower- color polymorphism, with both yellow- and purple- flowered individuals always present in their natural habitats.
