Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, near Kanab, Utah, is famous for its ever shifting dunes formed from sands eroded from the region's Navajo Sandstone. The color is due to iron oxide. Unfortunately, many of the most impressive dunes have been impacted by dune buggies and other off-road vehicles, the use of which is permitted in most of the park.
