Staghorn Cholla (Opuntia versicolor). Easily separated from similar chollas that share its range by its dull green to purplish-green stems. Flowers vary from yellow to orange, pink or purple. Abundant in the desert of south-central AZ. Photographed Organpipe National Monument, AZ.
