January 3, 2008, marked the silver anniversary of the ongoing eruption of Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. This shot shows the volcano still erupting after all these years with a glowing plume looming over the village of Volcano, Hawaii, which is immersed in volcanic smog, (vog). The activity is located on volcano's east rift zone within the Kahauale`a Natural Area Reserve.
