Prairie larkspur, Delphinium virescens. This rather pale colored larkspur can be found from WI and IL south to TX and NM. This plant is poisonous if eaten. The name "larkspur" is a reference to the spur-like projection at the back of the flower. Photo Dallas Co., TX
