This insectivorous plant is found growing in muddy ponds and bogs where the soil is peaty. It is a little herbaceous, perennial, aquatic plant, with short and slender roots. The sundew (Drosera rotundifolia) supplements its diet with insects that are trapped in the sticky droplets on the leaves. Photographed at Sleeping Bear National Park, Michigan.
