A Canary Eye, Thumbergia alata, in crosspolar illumination. Cross polars are normally used in crystallography, but also works with near-transparent objects in macro photography, like small flowers. Here, two polarizer filters are combined to create a "dark field", in such a way that the light transmits from the black part of the image and any transparent object that interfere with the field, will reflect light and expose the photograph.
