The Blunt-Leaved Milkweed (Asclepias amplexicaulis) is an herbaceous perennial that gets it's name from its milky white sap. It can be found growing in open, dry, sandy soils in fields, prairies, meadows, and pastures in most of eastern North America, westward to the Great Plains, and south to Texas and Florida. This plant was photographed at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, NY.
