Spiny Hopsage (Grayia spinosa). The ripe, paper, pink seed capsules are highly conspicuous and at first glance resemble flowers. It is considered an excellent browse plant and beacuse of this is known in parts of UT as applebush. It is found in the western US from UT and Wyoming west to WA and CA and AZ.
