Transmission electron microscopic (TEM) image revealed the presence of a number of Bunyamwera virus virions, a member of the virus family Bunyaviridae, and the genus Bunyavirus. The largest family of viruses, Bunyaviridae are negative-sense single-stranded RNA viruses, which are spread through contact with infected arthropods and rodents. In humans Bunyamwera virus causes Bunyamwera fever.
