Color enhanced scanning electron microscope of pollen from a Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), (also called sunroot, sunchoke, or topinambour). This is a species of sunflower, native to eastern North America. This kind of tuberous sunflower may be over 3m high. It blooms late in the fall with small sunflower-like blooms.
