He worked as a vaudeville artist in the Netherlands, Germany, UK and USA. His artists' names were Lofty (UK) and Jan van Albert (USA, Europe). He died in 1976, just short of his 79th birthday. Gigantism, also known as giantism, is a condition characterized by excessive growth and height significantly above average. In humans, this condition is caused by over-production of growth hormone in childhood resulting in persons between 7 feet and 9 feet tall.
