Hanging scroll entitled: Shoulao (Sunoin), God of Longevity from Korea, Korean, Joseon dynasty, 1392-1910, 18th century. Ink and color on paper. Shou-lao is the ancient Chinese Taoist god of long life and luck. Shou-lao is the popular name of Shou-xing, whose name means "Star of Longevity". He has an enormously high bald head and supports himself on a knotty staff.
