The Halaszbastya or Fisherman's Bastion is a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style above the Danube River, on the Castle Hill in Budapest, Hungary. It was built in the late 19th Century, and restored after its near destruction during World War II. Its towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896. The Bastion is named for the guild of fishermen who defended this stretch of city walls in the Middle Ages.
