Romania's capital city of Bucharest (Bucuresti in Romanian). A Monstrous House of the People built 1984 -1989 by the dictator Ceausescu as his center of power. Ruthlessly leveling for the building site itself and for the monumental avenue leading to part of the city. With floor space of over 64 sq km it is the world's second largest administrative building after the Pentagon. Today it accommodates the Romanian Parliament, serves as an international convention center, houses the National Museum of Contemporary Art, and still remains half empty.
