Hubert Horatio Humphrey, Jr. (May 27, 1911 - January 13, 1978) was an American politician who served as the 38th Vice President of the United States under President Lyndon B. Johnson, from 1965 to 1969. Humphrey twice served in the United States Senate, representing Minnesota from 1949 to 1964 and 1971 to 1978. He was the nominee of the Democratic Party in the 1968 presidential election, losing to the Republican nominee, Richard Nixon. Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (October 11, 1884 - November 7, 1962) was an American politician. She was the longest serving First Lady of the United States, holding the post from March 1933 to April 1945 during her husband's four terms in office. Adlai Ewing Stevenson II (February 5, 1900 _ July 14, 1965) was an American politician and diplomat, noted for his intellectual demeanor, eloquent public speaking, and promotion of liberal causes in the Democratic Party. He served as the 31st Governor of Illinois, and received the Democratic Party's nomination for president in 1952 even though he had not campaigned in the primaries.
