Aerial view of the burial mound (called Kofun) of Emperor Rich?, the 17th imperial ruler of Japan; Osaka Prefecture. Rich? is believed to have ruled during the early 5th century CE. Megalithic tombs such as this one were built from the 3rd to the early 7th century; most feature the keyhole-shaped mound unique to ancient Japan.
