Members of the Afro-Brazilian religious group Candombl矇 engaged in a spirit-possession ritual; Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. Candombl矇 is a belief system that developed among African slaves and their descendents in Brazil. It has strong ties to African spirit-possession religions, but also draws on Catholicism, Pentecostalism, Umbanda, and Brazilian mythology.
