Breeding pond of the endangered Puerto Rican crested toad, Guanica Dry Forest Preserve (looking east). This seasonal pond is the only remaining historical breeding pond of this critically endangered toad. Here it must compete with the much larger numbers of the introduced Marine toad. Photograph taken in early December after a period of rain filled the pond.
