Bearfort Waters, a eutrophic lake in Wawayanda State Park, New Jersey. Eutrophic lakes are filled with plants and algae. This can be a natural process, or it can be caused by an increase in nutrients from fertilizers and detergents. Eventually, the lake may fill in and become a marsh or meadow.
