Crinoid fossil (Encrinus sp.) from the Triassic Period, Muschelkalk, Germany. Encrinus had a small calyx, well-developed arms and pentameral symmetry. It probably lived in shallow, flowing sea water with its calyx facing the current, trapping microscopic food particles with its pinnules. Length: 35mm.
