Common Aspen Leaf Miner (Phyllocnistis populiella) damage, Glacier National Park, Montana. Leaf miner larvae consume the contents of epidermal cells on both top and bottom surfaces of poplar leaves (Populus sp.), leaving the photosynthetic tissue intact. Large infestations can cause widespread damage.
