Eastern Yellowjacket (Vespula maculifrons): A frequent visitor to picnics. This wasp, like most flying insects, have usually three tiny eyes in addition to their two large compound eyes. These small simple eyes, called ocelli, help the insect to keep upright and oriented when they fly.
