Diplurans are flightless and blind invertebrates. As a group, diplurans broke away from the early insects before insects evolved flight. Many species of dipluran inhabit caves. Bead-like antannae are a key character for the group. This individual (Litocampa species) was photographed in a cave of northeastern Oklahoma, 2011.
