Golden orb-weaver spider, (Nephila clavipes), female and much smaller male. The golden orb-weaver is the largest orb-weaving spider in the New World. This spider is a female, her body is an inch long. Males, in comparison are tiny. The extremely strong silk is used in industry and is being produced in goat's milk through genetic engineering.
