A man stands over a nest of a Batagur (Batagur baska) on a sandbar of the Perak River, Malaysia, after excavating eggs to transfer to a hatchery. Eggs hatch about 75 days after being laid. IUCN considers the species as Endangered in peninsular Malaysia and Indonesia, and Critically Endangered in India and Bangladesh.
