The Rock Bass (Ambloplites rupestris), is a common freshwater species found in clear water over gravel or a rocky bottom. This fish is known to tolerate a wide variety of habitats. An aggressive feeder it is a favorite of young anglers. This photo was taken at night when the fish hides close to the bottom.
