Whooping Crane, (Grus americana), spending the summer with a group of unmated Sandhill Cranes at a DNR supported marsh restoration project in Clark County, Wisconsin. This whooping crane was hatched at the International Crane Foundation, was named 'Poe' and was transferred to the Necedah NWR at 1 month of age. She is a DAR (Direct Autumn Release) bird and was released in 2004 along with 3 others DAR whooping crane chicks.
