Golden Orb-weaver Spider (Nephila sp.). Golden Orb-weaver Spiders are common in eastern Australia. Their leg span is often larger than human hand span. Their webs, often more than 1 meter in diameter, are built in open areas between trees, and attached to buildings in suburban backyards. Their webs are strong enough to very occasionally trap small birds. Kuranda, North Queensland, Australia.
