Water Python (Liasis mackloti). This python grows to 2.5 meters. It occurs widely across tropical northern Australia and also New Guinea. It is a semi-aquatic species and is usually found in the vicinity of streams and swamps. It feeds mainly on mammals, though water birds and small crocodiles are also occasional prey items. Mareeba, North Queensland, Australia.
