Blue Dasher Dragonfly (Pachydiplax longipennis) a.k.a. Swift Long-winged Skimmer. Habitat: Ponds, marshes, sluggish streams. Season: Late June-early Sept. Notes: Male thorax striped black and yellow; abdomen blue with black tip. Female and immature duller. Wings mostly clear. Common near quiet waters.
