Falcate orangetip butterfly, Anthocharis midea, male. Females lack the orange wing tips. It is feeding on flowers of the eastern redbud, Cercis canadensis. This butterfly can be found over a large portion of eastern US from New England to TX, but adults can only be found in very early spring for about 7 - 10 days.
