The male Elegant Trogon has a shiny metallic blue-green head separated from its red belly by a narrow white band across the breast. It has a long tail which is squared at the end. The Trogon thrives in mountain forests, pine-oak, or sycamore canyons in southern Arizona, New Mexico, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Taken in Madera Canyon, Green Valley, Arizona. (Trogon elegans)
